Published Work

While working as a Writer, News Editor, and then Editor-in-Chief at The Sputnik over the course of three years, I wrote a number of news articles, sports pieces, and opinions pieces. These articles all took into account relevance to the pertaining audience, real world issues, and finding local sources, both professional and casual human sources to gain a well rounded story of each topic. Some of my most memorable stories were my story about The Canada Post Worker Strike and a story about a local veteran legion that was burnt down entirely.

My most memorable project at The Sputnik was a story written about a local retirement community that was moved to a new location. The old home site was bought by the city and was to be renovated into affordable housing and support areas for the unhoused community within Brantford. In the midst of searching for sources for this story, I experienced the horror of being banned by Meta for violating their community guidelines for asking local residents in a Facebook group for sources that lived nearby the old property and what they thought about the project and what it would do to the area.
